Cider House Reviews
June, 2026
We stayed two nights and will be back again as soon as we can. The rental is one of the best places we have ever stayed. The owners did a remarkable job in transforming a former apple cider production space into a super clean, sophisticated, fun place to stay with all the touches you could ever want in a vacation rental. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Floyd, Meadows of Dan are all close enough. Or you might just want to relax in the beautiful surroundings of the former Foggy Ridge Cidery. It is a little bit out of the way but once you get there, everything else is out of the way. Very private but the owners live over the hill and had excellent communication. Great kitchen set up, great shower head, granite sink counters, super comfortable bedding…Ten stars out of five!

If you are ready for a reset, this is your place. It is the most calming property I have had the pleasure to stay at. It exudes all the best vibes and is a gorgeous testament to its former glory as a cider production facility and showroom. I could feel the love and pride pouring from every nook and cranny throughout my long stay. Chuck and Diane, it was a true privilege to stay here. Thank you so much!

“This is the third time that we have stayed here and its quickly become my happy place! There are so many nice touches throughout the property it really enhances your stay. The house is well stocked and the kitchen has everything you need. The location is incredibly beautiful with plenty to do in the area. Diane is wonderful to work with and it is plain she puts in a lot of effort to make her property one of the best. We’ll be back!”

Wonderful VRBO! Diane was so kind and welcoming. The home was beautiful, well furnished, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed walking/hiking on the farm. We loved having an apple orchard outside the front door, and cows across the street. Only 20ish minute drive to quaint town of Floyd and Chateau Morrisette. We had such a relaxing weekend in this home and would love to go back!
I’ll be honest in disclosing I’ve visited when the building was used for a retail location, so to see its transformation into a residence was quite a thrill. It allows a glimpse into its former life and still gives a stylish and very functional place to stay a weekend or longer. Cozy areas to sit for a good book or just relax with an appropriate beverage. The bed was my first experience of getting lost and enjoying it. The surrounding area provides plenty for activities, from exploring the immediate trails near or on Buffalo Mountain to visiting the town of Floyd for music and a meal. I look forward to a return trip.

Absolutely loved this Vrbo! Communication with the owner and non-contact access was a breeze (we checked in late at night without any problems). The location was well-stocked with everything you needed. We found the king bed very comfortable and loved the bathroom towels (felt like we were in a hotel with extra shampoo/conditioner/makeup hand towels). We did not cook but the kitchen had all the things you would need. Since we went just before Thanksgiving, it was chilly, but the heat worked well, and we were comfortable there. There were maps of the apple orchard walking trails which we did not get to use (we went hiking elsewhere nearby). We loved the proximity to the local wineries. We will definitely have to come back. It was a perfect getaway weekend spot. I highly recommend!

This is our second stay here and we have loved it both times. Diane is a wonderful host and has been SO helpful. We love how serene and beautiful both the house and surrounding area are. Bed is super comfortable and it was well stocked. Thanks for a great stay! Exactly as described and exactly what I needed. I wanted to take my daughter and her girlfriend somewhere quiet and remote, with few distractions and that’s what I found. The whole stay was so relaxing and calming. We slept with the windows open to hear the creek and feel the wonderfully chilly air (in August!) In the mornings I walked the trails behind the house to enjoy viewing all the wildflowers, butterflies, and birds. During the day we ventured out for classic, country breakfasts, then to the nearby town of Floyd and to Foster Falls. Everywhere we drove there were fields of deer and cows grazing, which my city kids were so excited about. In the evenings we worked on a puzzle and played card games. Those two 16-year-olds enjoying our simple evenings without their phones was something I would never have expected. They actually asked if we could stay another day and I would have if I could. Next time I hope my husband can join us. The queen bed is comfy and firm, and the house is just big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids…The host, Diane, is very responsive and a joy to talk to. If you ask, she will tell you the fascinating history of the property and its apple orchards. I can’t wait to return.
